Having more than 15 years of healthcare experience, Amy Collins is the founding Member of Medical Practice Management, LLC in Mobile, Alabama. She leads a healthcare team of trained professionals that provide billing/collections, practice management, consulting, medical coding, fee schedule analysis, information technology (IT) and human resource management to physicians and other healthcare providers throughout the southeast.
Prior to forming MPM, Amy worked as a healthcare consultant, both independently and for a top ten regional public accounting firm, providing operational/billing assessments, benchmarking and strategic planning for physician and hospital clients. In addition to her role as a healthcare consultant, Amy has nine years of valuable experience as a practice administrator and has a complete understanding of physician billing and operational needs.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Alabama. She received a Masters degree in Business Administration from SpringHill College. Amy is a member of the professional organization Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) of Alabama and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Devoted to her community, she serves on the board of the Penelope House, a shelter home for abused women and children, and participates in other annual fundraising and charity events.

Katie leads the marketing and business development efforts for Medical Practice Management, LLC. She is responsible for educating healthcare companies and physicians about MPM practice management solutions. In addition to her marketing duties, Katie also assists with special projects such as patient satisfaction surveys and community physician needs assessments. With eight years of healthcare experience, she has previously worked for a top ten regional accounting firm and a private outpatient imaging company, where her responsibilities focused on hospitals, health systems and physician practices. During this time, she consistently created and managed marketing initiatives that produced positive results and exceeded company growth goals.
She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her BA in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Marketing. She is currently a member of Nashville Medical Group Management Association (NMGMA), and has been involved with the Nashville Healthcare Council (NHCC) and Tennessee Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Sharon is the Director of Operations for Medical Practice Management, LLC and has filled various management roles in the healthcare industry since 1980. She is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the billing office and reviewing monthly accounts receivables to assure the optimal financial performance for our clients. Sharon also serves as MPM’s client liaison, works on various special projects and performs other office management administrative duties as needed.
Her vast amount of multi-specialty knowledge in healthcare management, sales, customer service, revenue cycles and IT solutions correlates perfectly with MPM’s diverse physician client base. Sharon has held management roles for many large specialty practices throughout her career including urology/oncology, cardiology, surgery and allergy/asthma.
Sharon also spent 6 years working for a medical software company. During that time she developed an in depth and comprehensive understanding of electronic medical record (“EMR”) and practice management (“PM”) systems. As a result of her IT solutions expertise, Sharon directs the “Meaningful Use” committee for MPM, and serves as a client resource for questions related to the 2009 Stimulus Package incentive funds.
Sharon has been elected as Past President and active board member for both Alabama MGMA and Mobile MGMA for more than 13 years. While holding leadership roles at these organizations, her responsibilities have included the coordination of activities, preparation of agenda, direction of meetings, distribution of information, delegation of responsibilities, organization of committees and maintenance of contacts with committee chairs.
